On the final day of the week our first stop was at Vladimir Karaleev who presented at Kaufhaus Jandorf. His collection was characterized by graphic layering and his signature deconstructions. Vladimir Karaleev translated geometric forms into experimental collars, belts and flaps by using both solid and sheer fabrics mainly in muted colors, with the rare color punctuation.

Odeur Studios’ collection was an altogether more wild case, in setting “intermission” as main idea of this season. The brand’s designer Petter Hollström and Gorjan Lauseger presented a playful, yet sombre collection in shades of white, greys, neon yellow and black. A frisky yet sophisticated approach to functional and sporty tailoring was found in oversized jackets, sweaters and overlong sleeves. Layering and diversity were created by combining mesh fabrics to soft jersey and sleek cotton. Founded in 2006, Odeur Studios presses on with a contiguous collection of contemporary design.

This fashion week was diverse by all means and gave us an insight into the subjects and ideas German fashion designers are wrestling with at the moment. Taking us backstage and following us every step along the way, photographer Honig Schreck images will hopefully give you a well-rounded impression of the events that took place. And as we start to recoup from the week’s events, we’ll pause to remember, question and sometimes, event doubt the things we saw. It’s what keeps us going and what makes fashion, still, a fascinating topic and fashion week, an engaging forum.
