We Create Berlin

WCB_Fotos_COORDINATION

Berlin is a city not only known for its creative fashion scene, but also for all sorts of newcomers, start-ups and designers from various fields. It is a creative melting pot with growth potential. What the city, and especially young talents need, is a platform to show off their talents. Under the umbrella “We Create Berlin”, more than 20 up-and-coming Berlin-based designers are displaying their work at the VW Automobil Forum from now through September 15, all organized by the network ‘Create Berlin’. Œ Magazine went to see the impressive compositions and art pieces.

From photography to architecture to fashion/product/interior/textile design visitors can gaze at marvellous installations and exhibits. Œ found three outstanding talents who deserve your attention now.

Creations like their stainless steel lights, inspired by the scale between stars in the universe, or their marvellous glass tables with a framework that is breathtaking convinced us of the designer’s talent. Creative solutions and craftsmanship resulted in wonderful pieces that will go on our wishlist immediately.

Veronike Wildgruber

The fashionable accessories from Veronika Wildgruber are the perfect match for a variety of looks. For the last days of summer, Wildgruber’s timeless designs are a great choice. Not only does she design eyewear, she has put her creative talents to create beautiful furniture and home accessories as well. In her own words, her works are “simple and surprising”—agreed.

IMAGO1:1, Susanna Kraus

Hard to believe, but true: a walk-in and large format camera – the only one existing. An interactive art object in which visitors can step into the camera and create a life-size self-portrait with the help of a self-timer. The outcome is a unique copy in black and white (60 x 200cm) – without any negatives. Built by Werner Kraus, his daughter Susanna rediscovered it in 2004 and breathed new life into it.
