Nobi Talai

Though a fairly fresh face on the scene, with her second collection only just under her belt, Nobi Talai has already attracted wide acclaim, promoted byt the German Fashion Council’s fellowship program, an initiative headed by Vogue Germany Edito-in-Chief, Christiane Arp. Nobieh Talaei, the designer behind the brand, showed her NT.02 Autumn/ Winter 2016/2017 collection in an intimate setting, the primary inspiration for which was the elegantly nomadic life of an independent woman. Silhouettes gave new meaning to elements traditionally associated with eastern cultures, with flowing drapes of fabric and graphic cuts across a range of luxurious materials. Far from obscuring the female form through her layering, Talaei accentuates the female body, making sure that each outfit emphasises a particular element. The garments themselves seem to be built around visions of long journeys, with hues of nude, grey, dark green colouring the collection’s pallet, thereby evoking acertain timelessness. The real eye-catcher of the collection, however, came in the form of an orange strapless blouse, breaking the continuity of the otherwise mute, earthy tones.
