Bikini Berlin is slowly shaping up to the hype. With the arrival of Supermarket last week, the newly opened concept mall is welcoming a much needed chic addition to its space. Although the mall itself is quite a confusing congregation of retailers, including the unusual presence of Kaiser’s market, we promise you that this new supermarket makes the visit out west worth your while. Last Thursday, the Œ team took to celebrating Supermarket’s Berlin debut, which drew a happy and hip crowd eager to toast to free champagne and cocktails, dance to fun music, and munch on delicious hors d’oeuvre. Thankfully, no looting and mayhem in this one (sorry, Karl).
Joining its retail kin in Belgrad and Porto Montenegro, the sprawling 800 square meter room offers a special dining location and spacious terrace surrounded by unique furniture pieces, home accents, and a polished portfolio of fashion labels. Sigurd Larsen, Ina Beissner, Isabell de Hillerin and Ivanman are a few of our favorites on offer. And just when we thought this place could not possibly be more hip, we found out that the stylish and knowledgable staff will be donning specially designed uniforms created by Ivanman himself.
Mirroring its own sister shops, Supermarket plans on creating regular events centered on fashion, music, and art. Here’s to hoping for many a warm summer nights sipping champagne on its terrace in the name of fashion!
