Optical prints are a spring runway and retail hit. Varying from striped and graphic shapes to windowpane squares and typographic repetitions, these prints always create an alluring optical effect, especially when reduced to a simple black and white spectrum. Here are our favorite look interpretations of the trend:
German-Polish (L) Dawid Tomaszewski presented a collection consisting of oversized silhouettes in light fabrics, creating an airy movement in the graphic print of braided lines. (R) Edun combined various graphic shapes in her layering, presented on a matching catwalk.
(L) Riani and (R) Pink Tartan both sent a simple, fitted dress down the runway with carefully placed lines and black and white surfaces.
(L) Sopopular presented a total look in a 3D cube print. (R) Rodarte combined stripes and windowpanes in an asymmetrical ruffle dress.
Windowpanes were also used in the collections from L) Ralph Lauren and (R) Bottega Veneta.
(L) Alexander Wang created a typographic print of his name. (R) Kenzo created a print of repetitional scribblings and handwriting.
