Jesper Jensen, who works from his Wedding-based studio, is making waves with his namesake sustainable glass label. Educated as a glass blower and glass designer at the Royal Danish Academy’s School of Design, Jensen took a conscious turn in his working field. After thirteen years of professional hot glass blowing, Jensen’s interest in environmental issues started to grow. His alternative method of working with hot glass developed in 2008 and after being awarded a COPKreativ price he decides to start his own glass studio in Berlin.
Combining great Scandinavian design with an environmentally conscious production method is Jensen’s unique selling point. His day-to-day morning ritual consists of cycling around the neighborhood and collecting empty wine bottles in the streets. Afterwards, he cleans and reshapes those into many different organic shapes and sizes that results in drinking glasses or vases. His aim is to make beautiful, sustainable glass pieces without harming the environment more than necessary. Simply stated, the products are “made with love, from Berlin.”
