The first time I went to visit the XXX store in Kreuzberg, it took me a while to find out where I had to be. The store, a former factory, is literally hidden in a courtyard. But in the left wing of Skalitzer Str. 33, on the third floor, I rang the bell and entered avant-garde paradise. The shop features a unique visual: a mix of elements between re-used furnitures and artworks with a selection of avant-garde fashion, art and design. XXX spreads over 400 squared meters, providing an amazing selection of fashion and accessory labels, a gallery hallway which leads you to a kitchen space where you can have coffee or tea, and three guestrooms they rent out to (featured) artists and designers to work and sleep.
